MOD 0003: A BI-LATERAL MODIFICATION IS ISSUED TO ADD CLIN 0005 TO THE EXISTING CONTRACT. DUE TO A PERSISTENT DROUGHT IN THE REGION AND A RECENT INCREASE IN ARSON FIRES IN AND ADJACENT TO BUFFALO NATIONAL RIVER, THE RISK OF WILDFIRE IN THE GLADE AREA IS HIGH. IT IS CRITICAL THAT INCREASED FUEL REDUCTION THINNING OCCUR IMMEDIATELY. A SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION HAS BEEN APPROVED AS DOCUMENTED IN THE CONTRACT FILE TO THIN APPROXIMATELY 53 ACRES OF SMALL HARDWOOD TREES AS DESCRIBED AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH ATTACHMENT 8 (SCOPE OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONS), WHICH IS INCLUDED IN THIS MODIFICATION AND HEREBY MADE A PART OF THE CONTRACT.
