"OTHER FUNCTIONS." THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS REQUIREMENT IS TO PROVIDE NETWORK MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR THE REGION 5 LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN) INFRASTRUCTURE. THE SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: SUPPORTING REGION 5 LAN INFRASTRUCTURE, IMPLEMENTING NETWORK PORT SECURITY, IMPLEMENTING NETWORK CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT, AND CONDUCTING NETWORK MANAGEMENT SUITE (NMS) TRAINING. THE NMS TRAINING PORTION OF THIS REQUIREMENT IS SUPPORTED BY A BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION PROVIDED BY THE CLIENT. THE VA HAS RECENTLY MIGRATED ALL OF ITS BACKUP, STORAGE, AND NETWORK REPLICATION TO THE EMC SOLUTIONS AND WILL REQUIRE TRAINING FOR THIS TO BE PROVIDED BY AN EMC PROFESSIONAL. IN ADDITION, CONDUCTING LAN TRAINING WILL ALSO BE INCLUDED AS AN OPTIONAL TASK TO BE EXERCISED IF THE NEED ARISES.
