IGF::OT::IGF OTHER FUNCTION TRACKING, ACQUISITION, AND ILLUMINATION EXPERIMENTS IN SUPPORT OF LIGHTFORCE. LIGHTFORCE IS A NOVEL WAY OF PREVENTING COLLISIONS INVOLVING ORBITAL SPACE DEBRIS USING PHOTON PRESSURE ALOWN, APPLIED FROM A GROUND-BASED LASER. SUCH A SYSTEM WOULD ENABLE NASA TO AVOID IN SPACE COLLISIONS AND POTENTIALLY COULD SLOW OR PREVENT THE ORBITAL DEBRIS CASCADE THAT IS TAKING PLACE IN LOW EARTH ORBIT (LEO). IT'S ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO ENSURE SUSTAINABLE USE OF LEO FOR FUTURE MISSIONS OF ANY SORT THAT NASA OR OTHER AGENCIES UNDERTAKE. THE LIGHTFORCE LITE PROJECT WILL DEVELOP KEY TECHNOLOGIES NEEDED TO DEMONSTRATE SUCH A CAPABILITY. THE CURRENT ACQUISITION IS TO TRACKING DEBRIS AND OBTAIN ORBIT DETERMINATION DETAILS FOR THE DEBRIS TRACKED. - $30,000 - Tuesday the 6th of August 2013
