THE NASA OFFICE OF EDUCATION, EDUCATION PROGRAMS INTEGRATION DIVISION, NASA STUDENT AMBASSADORS VIRTUAL COMMUNITY (NSAVC)AND STUDENT ON-LINE APPLICATION FOR RECRUITING (SOLAR) LAUNCHPAD WEB SITE IS AN AGENCY-WIDE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION TOOL DESIGNED TO REACH STUDENTS SEEKING INTERNSHIPS, FELLOWSHIPS, AND SCHOLARSHIPS OPPORTUNITIES AT NASA CENTERS. IT WILL INCORPORATE SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATHEMATICS (STEM) ACTIVITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES OF EACH OF NASA'S FIELD CENTERS AND THE JET PROPULSION LABORATORY (JPL). THE INTENT OF THIS EFFORT IS TO CREATE A WEB-BASED LAUNCHPAD THAT INTEGRATES 'ONE-STOP' ACCESS TO EXISTING NASA EDUCATION HIGHER EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES, INCLUDING A NASA-WIDE VIRTUAL COMMUNITY AND AN INTEGRATED APPLICATION, SELECTION AND PLACEMENT SYSTEM FOR STUDENT ENGAGEMENT IN STEM RESEARCH, AEROSPACE EDUCATION AND THE SPACE EXPLORATION WORKFORCE PIPELINE. THE SOW ALSO INCLUDES THE ON-GOING MAINTENANCE OF THE EXISTING NSAVC WEBSITE.
