PHASE 1 -- THE SCOPE OF THIS EFFORT IS TO DEVELOP A HIGHLY AUTOMATED FLOW TO FULLY DERIVE AND CHARACTERIZE THE ENTIRE FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR AND HIERARCHICAL STRUCTURE OF A COMPLEX DIGITAL IC STARTING FROM ONLY A FLAT NETLIST AT THE 45 NM NODE. R3LOGIC WILL AUTOMATE FASTSAT PROCEDURES BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS: LOGIC REDUCTION; TRACE/COLLAPSE NETS; PATTERN RECOGNITION; AND FUNCTION BOUNDARY DETECTION. THE FASTSAT ALGORITHM, WHICH CURRENTLY EXISTS AS A SET OF COMMAND-LINE FUNCTIONS WILL NEED TO BE CODED AND IMPLEMENTED. THE FOUR TASKS LISTED REPRESENT THE FOUR MOST USED ROUTINES IN STEPPING THROUGH THE FUNCTIONAL DISCOVERY PROCEDURE, AS WAS DONE IN THE SEEDLING PROGRAM. THE PURPOSE OF THIS MODIFICATION IS TO APPLY INCREMENTAL FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $388,370.
